Samantha and Tom tied the knot at the beautiful Tamborine Gardens Wedding Resort on the 9th of April 2016! The couple has been together for over 4 years, and contacted me late last year about their upcoming wedding. Earlier this year we met to discuss their big day and do an engagement session at the Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens.
It was obvious from the moment I met them that the couple had a light hearted and comfortable relationship, and with active toddler daughter Aubrey, life is never boring for the pair!
On the day of the wedding, my partner Michael and I started the coverage at the beautiful cottages on the site where they girls and boys were getting ready separately. Samantha was very relaxed when I got there, she was working on a letter to Tom while the girls all had their hair and makeup done, and Tom and the boys were shining their shoes, spray painting signs for the reception and having some lunch before getting into their suits.
Sam’s dress was from A Formal Affair, and was a stunning strapless A-line gown with beautiful lace and diamante detail on the bodice. Her veil was a spectacular cathedral length masterpiece with beautiful lace detail along the bottom. Mandy from Platinum Edge Hair and Beauty did the girls’ hair, and Fellan from FR Makeup Artistry applied their flawless makeup. Carolyn Hyde from Hyde Roses provided the stunning bouquets for the girls as well as the buttonholes for the guys. Tom wore a blue suit and personally engraved cufflinks. Sam and Tom gave each other gifts in the morning, as well as long beautiful letters. Sam gave Tom an engraved pocket watch, and Tom gave Sam a hair piece she had been eying off, as well as another more intimate present that she deemed too private to get photos of! Sam also gave her father a gift of personalised cufflinks especially for the day.
Aubrey was sleeping most of the morning, but once she was up, she was a whirlwind! She had her own little outfit, a cute white dress to match mummy’s, a fur bolero for the colder evening, and her own little posy (also from Hyde Roses). She had the important job of being the flower girl, and she performed like a champ!
The ceremony had Aubrey tossing the flower petals down the aisle of the garden chapel before Sam made her grand entrance, and Tom couldn’t wipe the smile from his face when he saw his stunning bride! Sam couldn’t help but shed some tears during the vows, and after the i-do’s the couple walked out of the chapel to a rain of flower petals that their guests were throwing all around them!
After the ceremony we headed off with the bridal party for photos. We used the gorgeous grounds of the gardens, and then headed up to the lookout for some amazing couple photos with the newlyweds! We were blessed with beaming sun and just the right amount of flare for the photos!
The reception was held in the Starlight room of the Tamborine Gardens, and the room was decked out with flowers and fairy lights, including the staircase where the bridal party made their entrance to the reception. The night consisted lots of laughter, funny speeches, dancing, and Aubrey making a splash by making a speech of her own and running around making people nervous about light stands and decorations!
We wish Sam and Tom all the best for their bright future together!
