Alyce and Ryan tied the knot on the 15th October 2016 at one of our favourite wedding venues, Spicers Hidden Vale in Grandchester.
Alyce got ready with her mum and bridesmaids on site, and after the hair and makeup was finished they helped her get into the gorgeous lace detail gown she had chosen for her big day. With a stunning diamante belt and a delicate lace overlay, it really suited Alyce’s personality. The bouquets consisted of deep and pale pink, purple and orange flowers with green ferns and foliage throughout, and the bridesmaid dresses were sophisticated floor length deep burgundy gowns that complemented the flowers perfectly.
Ryan got ready with his groomsmen just a short walk from where the girls were, and they all had their boutonnieres fitted by his mum. Ryan and the boys wore bluish charcoal suits and burgundy ties to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. Half an hour before the big moment Ryan went down to the ceremony location to greet the couple’s friends and family before the bride was due to walk down the aisle. As the time got closer, Ryan got a little overwhelmed and shed a few tears which was met with quick reassuring hugs from his close family as well as several “awww” moments from the general crowd.
Soon came the moment when the girls walked down the aisle one by one, and finally Alyce made her way towards her emotional groom! It was a lovely ceremony filled with genuine love and joy, and after the happy couple sealed their vows with a kiss, signed the paperwork and walked hand in hand back up the aisle, we headed off to take some photos of the bridal party in many of the gorgeous locations that Spicers had to offer. We utilised the iconic pool with the scenic backdrop and the long beautiful driveway, and the bridal party had a lot of fun even though we were racing against the clock a little bit.
The reception was set up in the Barn, and what a stunning set-up it was! Long decorated rustic tables and brown wooden chairs were lined up outside the barn itself, with two giant fireplaces crackling in the background to create an epic cosy atmosphere and lovely warmth! The centrepieces were small rustic jars with bright flowers, and the menus were printed on lovely thick brown stationery. The seating charts were printed on matching stationery attached to a rustic ladder introducing the guests to the reception area as they walked up the driveway to the Barn. The cake was a three tier buttercream creation with a gorgeous spray of fresh flowers going down the side of all three layers.
As the bridal party made their entrance and were seated, they were given blankets to keep warm on the perfect Spring evening, and again it added to the cosy mood of the whole day! Meals were served on large platters distributed onto the long tables for people to help themselves, reminiscent of how a hearty home cooked meal would be served for a special occasion. Speeches were held, the cake was cut, and Ryan and Alyce did their first dance together as husband and wife. After this, everyone got up and danced the night away to an epic playlist with many gems from the 90s, provided by the DJ!
We wish Ryan and Alyce all the best for the future!
