Lara + Christophe tied the knot with an intimate morning ceremony at Montville’s stunning Secrets on the Lake on the 25th March 2017.
Both bride and groom got ready at the beautiful “Wait a While” cabin along with the couples’ toddler son and Lara’s mum and brother. Lara was pregnant in her 2nd trimester with their second son together at the time of the wedding, and Christophe also has an older son who had the important job as ring bearer at the ceremony. Lara wore a beautiful lacy maternity wedding gown and white flat shoes, and her bouquet was a huge collection of fresh flowers of all kinds, colours and sizes and plenty of textured greenery. Chris wore a black suit with a white shirt and a white rose boutonniere.
As Lara’s father had unfortunately passed away, her brother got the honour of walking her down the aisle. Chris, the celebrant and their 15 guests waited at the ceremony as Lara made her entrance down the long beautiful path that led to the deck. As the bride and groom exchanged their vows, many of the guests got emotional and wiped away a tear or two. After the couple had signed the paperwork and had their first (and second and third) kiss, they went straight into a beautiful first dance right there on the deck! They disclaimed beforehand that they hadn’t practiced the dance, but they did very well, and at the end their two boys joined in for a little family sway.
Throughout the whole day it had been spitting with rain, but we were lucky that it didn’t get too heavy. After the ceremony we took the couple away for some couple photos, and we used many of the stunning backdrops that the venue had to offer. When the rain got a little bit much for a very short time, they whipped out a fancy white umbrella that they used in some of the photos.
After the photos the newlyweds joined their guests at the bar down at the deck where they mingled and chatted. Then they all slowly made their way up to the Secrets Café where the lunch reception was waiting for them. Everyone was seated, chose their meals from the delicious menu, and the happy couple cut the beautiful wedding cake which was a semi-naked creation with fresh white flowers as decoration.
