Ashley and Shane tied the knot on the 22nd October 2016 in Newstead Park. Shane got ready with his groomsmen and parents at a hotel in Hamilton, and Ashley and her bridesmaids and parents were at another hotel only 5 minutes away. Shane and the boys wore tan pants and white shirts with brown suspenders and matching brown shoes. Shane’s boutonniere consisted of pink and white flowers while the groomsmen had baby’s breath, and he also wore a spiffy colour speckled bow tie to set him apart as the man of the hour. Ashley wore a unique crochet wedding gown which was strapless, elegant and with a stunning train. She wore a beautiful flower crown of pink and purple flowers, and her hair was in bohemian waves. The bridesmaids wore white knee length dresses with lace detail on the bodice and hem and carried baby’s breath bouquets, while Ashley had a luscious full bouquet of roses and flowers in shades of pinks and purples set off with green foliage.
At Newstead Park the guests were first met by a gorgeous large wooden sign welcoming them to Shane and Ashley’s wedding. Shane and the boys arrived early in the turquoise Kombi van they had hired for the occasion, and Shane took time to greet the guests before the ceremony commenced. The girls arrived soon after in the same Kombi van, and finally things were under way! Thee bridesmaids walked down the long park path in close succession, and then Ashley was led down the aisle by her proud father. Shane couldn’t wipe the smile off his face, and the ceremony was sweet and personal with focus on Shane and Ashley’s family and readings by their nearest and dearest.
After the ceremony and group photos were done and dusted, we took the bridal party around the park for photos. We used the awesome Kombi van, the stunning park grounds, and the various fauna that was found around the area as backdrops, and the bridal part had a lot of fun! After the photo, the boys briefly went back to the hotel while the girls headed straight to the reception venue.
At Moda Portside in Hamilton, Shane and Ashley’s reception was set up beautifully, with lots of room for dancing and mingling, a cocktail setup with dry bars and a long table ready for a lolly buffet! The decorations were spot on with lots of golds and whites, as well as a giant LOVE sign, and their cake was a doughnut tower! They had a super fun photobooth by Click & Tell Photo Booths which was very popular throughout the evening, as well as giant jenga and tic tac toe games set up on the balcony. Dancing was very important to Ashley and Shane, so they started off the evening by going directly into the boogie as soon as they were introduced to the reception. Later there were heartfelt and entertaining speeches, lots of delicious food that were being passed around, surprise sparklers behind the couple on the balcony as they cut the cake and fed each other doughnuts, and even more dancing!
A big congratulations to the newlyweds, and we wish Ashley and Shane all the best for their future!
