Kelly and Andrew tied the knot at the Brisbane Customs House on the 14th January 2017! It was a hot and humid day, but that didn’t stop anyone from enjoying this loved up couple’s wedding day to the fullest!
Kelly got ready with her girls, as well as 3 month old son Ben, on the 26th floor of the Marriott Hotel in Brisbane. The bridesmaids wore beautiful dusty pink knee length dresses covered in with lace, and Anne from Paddington Weddings/Bertossi Brides created Kelly’s stunning wedding gown, a sleek A-line dress with lace cap sleeves and scalloping detail around the waist. The girls’ bouquets consisted of light pink roses and baby’s breath, with Kelly’s also including some deep red and white roses and green foliage. Andrew wore a blue suit while his groomsmen wore black, and they all wore burgundy ties. Adorable little Ben got dressed in the cutest little tuxedo onesie, complete with a tiny boutonniere of baby’s breath, which charmed the heck out of all the guests as well as celebrant Josh Withers!
The ceremony at the Riverside Terrace started with an emotional Kelly walking down the aisle with tears threatening to make their display, and Josh delivered a personal ceremony that was all about Kelly and Andrew connected as a unit and how their words to each other is what binds them together in matrimony. Ben delivered the rings in the most adorable fashion, and finally the newlyweds could make their first kiss as husband and wife!
After the ceremony we started bridal party photos right away, and we took advantage of many of the stunning backdrops at the Customs House. We got photos of the whole bridal party including the lovely kids who lead the way for Kelly down the aisle, and lots of great shots of the couple on their own, with Kelly’s flying veil on the steps of the Customs House as well as more intimate photos of the pair on the upstairs veranda.
The Long Room was beautifully set up for the reception with tall candelabras with floral arrangements in the middle as centrepieces, a clean white theme for the tables, and the gorgeous two tier wedding cake with the cutest little figurines to represent the newlywed couple and the topper reading “Happily Ever After”!
Joseph Bertossi provided videography for the day and captured moments of Kelly’s getting ready at the hotel, the ceremony at the Riverside Terrace, the bridal party photo session around the different areas of the stunning venue, and the start of the reception in the Long Room.
After the couple were introduced to the reception as “Dr and Dr – Mr and Mrs Maurice”, the friendly staff at the Customs House served a delicious three course menu and kept the guests lubricated with drinks all night while enjoying speeches, cake and dancing. The couple danced their first Bridal Waltz together as husband and wife, and then Kelly had a Father-Daughter dance with her proud dad while Andrew had the Mother-Son dance with his beautiful mum. Then the rest of their guests joined in and danced the night away!
We wish Kelly, Andrew and Ben (and all their future “angry-eyebrow” children) all the best for their future!
Here is what Kelly and Andrew had to say about their experience with Willow Branch Photography:
“Malin was wonderful! Punctual, easy to work with, and very creative! Even being pregnant herself she stood out in the 34 degree heat with a smile on her face! Every one of the photos are beautiful, a mix of reverent and fun photos, all of the emotions of the day were captured. Our favourites were the humorous/spontaneous photos! We were so happy with Malin’s wonderful work! Excellent value, superb quality photos, and wonderful creativity.”
